Points Talk with the Travel Mom Squad

This show may not be on everyone’s radar, but the Travel Mom Squad reviews some of their luxurious vacations as well as how to get started in Travel Hacking. The ladies break down the fundamentals and the newest offers on cards which help them travel for nearly free! Listening to these ladies, I was able to plan a trip to Hawaii booked on points with very little money out of pocket, 2 tickets to St. Louis from Charlotte for only $22, and 2 tickets to Colombia. Travel Hacking is great if you’re in touch with your finances and signing up for the Travel Hacking Mom’s newsletter.

Listening to the ladies discuss hotels they’ve visited is really interesting, especially if you’re looking to visit one of the destinations they’re discussing. Listening to the podcast helped me find cheaper flights and hotels for my Hawaii trip, and my St. Louis trip. They keep up to date on current card offers and discuss others that may benefit you if you’re taking the travel hacking journey. Everyone can learn and use their insight to travel for nearly free which is super helpful to families looking to travel! I definitely suggest checking out the podcast if you’re looking to travel in the future!

All The Hacks

The All The Hacks Podcast by Chris Hutchins is one of my favorites to listen to because he covers a lot of topics. Some of them include travel, flights, hotels, housing (house hacking), mindset, budgeting, money hacks, and much more! For travel hacking, Chris talks a lot about current card offers that offer high points for the minimum spend, or good deals. He has a lot of different guests on the show that also share their hacks on finances, like the BiggerPockets Money Show, that can help you save more and spend less while going through some of life’s bigger purchases.

I like to listen to All The Hacks when I’m looking for something different or specific because Chris does an amazing job diving into detail on specific topics. He also gives some different options to make it appealing to everyone rather than a small group. The podcast can be helpful to all ages and income levels. Be sure to keep an eye out for Chris’s new episodes where he recaps some of his traveling and new topics like starting a business over the weekend with Noah Kagan, mastering the skill of sleep with Mollie Eastman, or building a more meaningful and impactful life with Scott Harrison.

A Better Life With Brandon Turner

This is by far my favorite podcast for the past year as Brandon Turner, who I followed when he was doing the BiggerPockets Real Estate podcast, started a new show discussing life, faith, real estate, money, mindset, health, and everything in between. I do not relisten to podcasts very often but I find myself listening to a few of his shows again and again for the inspiration and knowledge his guests share.

I started listening to the podcast for the real estate and entrepreneur stories but I found myself listening and engaging with every episode no matter what topic. A lot of the stories also come from a religious perspective or what they’re doing and their purpose is driven by their faith. That was something new to me and recently I’ve started reading the Bible because of their stories. The visualization techniques used by many guests is something I’ve started also. When you visualize your future and have it written down, you give yourself a destination to work towards and you will subconsciously start making decisions towards that vision.

A few of the things I’ve learned from the guests on the show are gaining perspective, slowing down, and finding purpose. I was used to reading 30-40 books a year and now I have adjusted my view on education as to what season of life I’m in and what books can help guide me through that time. The podcast has inspired me to start this blog/website as well where I can help others during a time where things are a bit murky in life with finances. Go check out a few episodes!

A few of my favorite episodes:

  • #54, Brian Luebben
  • #8, Lexi and Cameron Cathcart
  • #15, Alexis & Jason Drees
  • #17, David Greene
  • #38, Andrea Fausett
  • #22, Robert Kiyosaki
